Helpdesk Support Technician

This program will prepare the student with the skills needed to enter into the exciting world of IT Support. This CBT program is equivalent to 520 hours or 26 weeks based on an estimated 20 hours of study time per week.

 

IT Help Desk Duties and Responsibilities may include:

  • Install, Configure, Test, Analyze, Diagnose, and Support PC Hardware.
  • Install, Configure, Test, Analyze, Diagnose, and Support PC Software.
  • Solve an array of end-user issues from simple user errors to sophisticated hardware issues.

    An IT Help Desk Specialist should be:

  • Friendly and cooperative
  • Self-motivated and dependable
  • Outgoing with great communication skills
  • Be organized and have great attention to detail

    When you complete your IT Help Desk Specialist program you will be able to demonstrate the ability to:

  • Step into a Level 1 Help Desk or Call Center environment.
  • Understand and function in all areas of IT support operations.
  • Provide desktop and basic network support to customers in a corporate setting.
  • Be prepared to sit for Industry exams including:
            • Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) 2003
            • MCTS, 70-620, 70-680
            • MCP Windows XP Pro
            • CompTIA A+ Exams - 220-601, 220-602, 220-603, & 220-604
                  Only one of the last 3 are needed with 220-601 for the A+ designation.
            • SK0-002 CompTIA Server+
            • XK0-002 CompTIA Linux+
            • N10-004 CompTIA Network+
