Information Security Professional Career Track

COURSE OVERVIEW

Information Security Professionals design, implement, and secure highly functional scalable intranetworks and internetworks using a comprehensive security knowledge of LAN and WAN technologies. This Career Track will show you how to manage, configure, scan, test, hack, and secure your own server and network systems. The intensive labs and demonstrations gives each student in-depth knowledge and practical experience with the current security systems.

Duties of an Information Security Professional includes the analysis of an organisations overall security risks and requirements, rating the importance of a company's products and offerings, and the related design, configuration, implementation and support of the information infrastructure to protect the business from potential security breaches. This role has an overlap with that of a network engineer but is higher level in that it is a more specialised career. 

COURSE DURATION: 826 HOURS

When you complete your Information Security Professional Career Program you should demonstrate the ability to analyze an organization's overall security risk and requirements; rate the importance of a companies products, services, and design; configure and implement an information infrastructure to protect the business environment from potential security breaches; and work in conjunction with the Network Engineer staff to create and maintain a secure environment.

IT Security Skills will help you to be proactive rather than reactive, and keep things practical focusing your efforts (and budgets) on areas with the highest payoffs. Perhaps most importantly, successful information security people know they must continuously focus on their ongoing education to keep their skills sharp and keep up with the latest trends so they can stay on top of this critical business role that's not going away.

In this Career Training Program students are brought through all the steps of installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting various computing platforms. Measures to keep these systems running smoothly and securely focus on the critical defensive technologies, while additional hands on-skills are taught to protect a network from the inside out. Instructors explore both theory and practical aspects of current technologies in order to share insight into the industry through their expert instruction.
